Pre & Postnatal personal trainer epsom

Pre & Postnatal Personal Training in Epsom

I coach women through pregnancy and post-partum with calm, individual strength training that is adapted to your body, your symptoms and your week. The aim is to help you feel safe, capable and strong before birth, after birth and through real family life.

First-hand coaching experience

This is not a generic pregnancy workout. It is coaching that changes with you.

I have worked with women returning to training after birth, women training throughout pregnancy, and women trying to feel like themselves again while managing the real demands of family life.

Every week can feel different. Energy changes. Sleep changes. Symptoms change. Confidence changes. So the session has to meet you where you are on the day, while still moving you towards a stronger, more resilient body.

My approach is practical, progressive and personal. We build strength around posture, breathing, core control, pelvic floor awareness, mobility and full-body fitness, while respecting medical guidance and your own feedback.

See the style of training

Strength work that feels controlled, purposeful and safe.

This video shows the kind of structured training I use with pre and postnatal clients. Exercises are selected and adjusted to suit the person in front of me, not copied from a fixed template.

Some days we build strength. Some days we reduce intensity and focus on control. Either way, the session still has a clear purpose.

How sessions are built

A clear structure, adapted to your body.

Pre and postnatal training works best when it is individual. These are the foundations I keep coming back to with clients.

01

Assess where you are now

We start with your stage of pregnancy or post-partum recovery, current symptoms, training background, birth history where relevant, and what you want your body to feel capable of doing.

02

Train with intent

Sessions can include strength, mobility, breathing, core control and conditioning, but every exercise has a reason. Nothing is thrown in just to make a session harder.

03

Progress at the right pace

We build confidence week by week. That might mean lifting more, moving better, feeling less anxious about exercise, or simply feeling strong enough for the demands of motherhood.

Client experience

Alice’s story

I have been having PT sessions with Jonathan since four months after the birth of my second daughter. I got to my target weight, felt so strong, flexible, and I was able to get my body to the best shape it’s been in before having both children. Every goal I set with Jonathan I achieved, and I felt so empowered. I am now 31 weeks pregnant and have trained with him throughout this third pregnancy, and keeping fit has allowed me to keep up with my two children, which isn’t an easy task! I have had no issues this pregnancy and feel safe training, physically prepared for birth, and have had no pelvic floor issues. I feel so safe training with Jonathan - he gets my post-partum and pregnancy body completely, and we tailor our sessions every week. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

Safe, personal, progressive

You should never feel like you are being forced through someone else’s programme.

The best sessions are built from communication. I want to know how you feel, how you slept, whether anything feels different, what your midwife, GP, consultant or physiotherapist has advised, and what your real life looks like that week.

From there, we train intelligently. We can work on strength, confidence, flexibility, controlled conditioning, postural strength and the kind of movement that helps you feel more prepared for birth, recovery and day-to-day life with children.

Pre and postnatal training should be done with appropriate medical clearance and adapted to your individual circumstances. If symptoms change, the session changes too.

Pre & postnatal personal training FAQs

Common questions before starting.

Can I train while pregnant?

In many cases, yes, but training should be adapted to your pregnancy, symptoms, experience and medical guidance. I tailor sessions week by week so the work remains appropriate.

When can I return to exercise after birth?

This depends on your birth, recovery, symptoms and medical clearance. We rebuild gradually, starting with control, posture, breathing, core awareness and strength that suits your stage.

Do you help with strength and fitness after having children?

Yes. Postnatal training is not only about recovery. It is also about rebuilding confidence, strength, flexibility and fitness for real life, motherhood and long-term health.

Ready to train with confidence?

Whether you are pregnant, returning after birth, or rebuilding strength around family life, we can create a plan that fits your body and your week.
